Hello there! Welcome to my blog where I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on football and use football data to scrutinise player performance. A big inspiration for me creating this work are Football Daily and Statsbomb. FD's content is regular and thoroughly engaging and entertaining, and I would highly recommend giving their channels a watch if you don't already.
Statsbomb are a football data analytics company, who release free data for the public to use and their articles are definitely worth a read. I recently completed the Introduction to Football Analytics course offered by Statsbomb and its definitely worth doing if you're interested in the data analysis side of the beautiful game.
For my troubles, I am an Arsenal fan and so it should be noted that I may have hint of pessimism in my "analysis". However, things are looking on the up for us and I couldn't be happier to see Granit Xhaka getting the plaudits he deserves. He looks so much more free without the pressure of the captain's armband on. I'm not going to restrict my writing to purely Gunners-focused and I have a few ideas that I'm going to work on over the coming weeks! Let's hope I can stick to this!
